LLM (Large Language Model)
A Large Language Model, or LLM, is a type of advanced language model that has been trained on an extremely large amount of text data. LLMs like GPT-4 are designed to understand complex language patterns, follow instructions, generate detailed content, and even solve problems across many topics. The “large” refers to both the size of the training data and the number of internal settings (called parameters) the model has.
Because LLMs have been exposed to so much information, they are incredibly flexible and can perform a wide variety of language tasks with little or no extra training. They power some of the most well-known AI tools today, and are used in areas like writing, coding, legal research, education, and customer service. Their ability to understand and generate human-like text makes them a major milestone in the evolution of AI.
